Tete province needs more than two thousand teachers to make up the shortfall

Província de Tete necessita de mais de dois mil professores para suprir o défice

The education sector in the province of Tete, in central Mozambique, admitted last Thursday (06) that it needs 2220 teachers to meet the demand for students in the current school year.

Faced with this challenge, the provincial director of Education in Tete, Francisco Jesus, said that in order to reverse the situation, the Executive would pay the overtime owed since 2022 and rescue some teachers who had been dismissed for various reasons.

"Some of the teachers have already been paid and some are still waiting for the amount. We are working together to have new teachers to meet the needs of the students," explained Francisco Jesus.
