The residents of the city of Nampula, supporters and sympathizers of presidential candidate Venâncio Mondlane and the Podemos party, have joined the call for the second phase of the general strike.
The march began at the airport traffic circle and the people are being "escorted" by the police of the Republic of Mozambique.
According to the information we have obtained, the demonstrations began at around 8 a.m., and there is still no record of any human or material damage.
The PRM General Command called on the Mozambican people not to join in and to stay away from acts of vandalism. It urged them to opt for civility and wait for the official announcement of the election results.
At 2:30 p.m., the National Electoral Commission (CNE) will release the results of the general elections held on October 9.
Today is the first of two consecutive days of general strike action called by Venâncio Mondlane through one of his social networks.
