The circulation on the road that connects the administrative post of Machubo, in Marracuene district to the main town of Manhiça, in Maputo province, is still interrupted due to flooding.
Following the cutting of the crucial route for the flow of agricultural products, the farmers of Machubo feel forced to go around the village of Marracuene to reach the market in Manhiça, a distance of 180 kilometers, or three times the previous route.
The director of the District Service of Planning and Infrastructure, of Marracuene, Sérgio Sumbana, says that the population is going through a difficult time.
" Due to these discharges Maragra has been forced to interdict the passage of cars. The use of this alternative road, has an impact on families, but it is the last alternative we have. The road has had improvement at the provincial level, but with localized actions," he said.
Besides Machubo, the town of Mabudula, in Matutuíne, Maputo province, remains isolated due to the cutting of the road to various points in the district, due to the rising flow of the Maputo river.
