The new Administrator of the Monetary Stability Department of the Bank of Mozambique, Maria Esperança Majimeja took office this Tuesday, in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane.
On the occasion, Maleiane challenged the WB to find solutions for the macroeconomic and financial stability of the country. And urged the incumbent to contribute to the improvement of control mechanisms to stop money laundering and terrorism financing.
On the other hand, the governor warned the WB that its responsibilities have increased as a result of the measures to stimulate the economy announced by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi.

For her part, Maria Majimeja, who replaces Felisberto Dinis Navalha, says she is able to contribute to stabilizing the Metical.
"I am prepared for the challenges along the lines defined by the Prime Minister. I also hope to contribute with all the knowledge I have acquired throughout my career to the stability of the national currency and to the continued modernization of the Bank of Mozambique," said Maria Majimeja.
