The Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, today, Thursday, in Maputo, leads the Regional Conference on the Sustainable and Integrated Management of the Miombo Forest.

The two-day event takes place under the theme "Towards sustainable and integrated management of the miombo in building resilience to climate change and protecting the Greater Zambezi."

According to a note, the event aims to share information about the current state of this forest resource and identify opportunities to implement joint, coordinated and integrated actions regarding its management, monitoring, control and conservation along with the protection of the Great Zambezi.

The conference, which will take place in a hybrid format (in person and virtual), comprises a variety of themes inserted in three panels, namely: Governance-Vulnerabilities and Opportunities; Miombo and Climate Change; and Commerce-Threats and Opportunities, the note indicates.
