President of the Republic says he will not implement measures announced by Venâncio Mondlane

Presidente da República diz que não vai implementar medidas anunciadas por Venâncio Mondlane

The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, says that his government is working to implement a governance plan for the next hundred days, but that it has nothing to do with the measures announced by the politician Venâncio Mondlane.

Mondlane, who considers himself and proclaimed himself President of the Republic "elected by the people", said last week that this Monday he will announce 25 government measures for the next hundred days.

On this subject, Chapo said that Mondlane's "ultimatum" has some "interesting" measures, one of them being the death of a police officer for every civilian killed. "I don't know if that makes sense to a man of average intelligence".

In an interview with CNN PortugalHe was asked whether or not he would follow Mondlane's directives, to which he said:

"The implementation of the measures does not come from Mr. Venâncio Mondlane. This has to be made very clear. At the moment, as a government, we are carrying out a nationwide survey of the damage caused by the demonstrations so that we can draw up an economic recovery plan to improve people's working and living conditions. We are also working on the 100-day plan, and the 100-day plan has nothing to do with Mr. Venâncio Mondlane's recommendations," he explained.

On the other hand, Chapo said that the government's work will focus on eliminating poverty by getting money into people's pockets.
