The President of the Republic received the Sant'Egídio Community in audience this Monday at his workplace. At the meeting, the Catholic organization greeted the new Head of State and expressed its willingness to work for the pacification of the country for the benefit of Mozambicans.
"The Sant'Egidio community has always worked for peace on behalf of the population. So we want to continue," said Maria Turrini, representing the Sant'Egidio Community in Mozambique.
"Even though times have gotten better and harder at times, the community will continue to work on behalf of the population and, above all, the most vulnerable people. So we went to present the work that the community is doing all over the country"
The Sant'Egídio Community, which has 11 health centers in Mozambique under the "DREAM" project, has been developing its activities since the recent call for an end to post-election violence, especially on Christmas Eve.
