Port of Beira acquires equipment valued at 10 million dollars

The Port of Beira has increased cargo handling capacity and strengthened security devices with the acquisition of new equipment valued at 10 million dollars, said an official source.

Jan Vries, the managing director of Cornelder de Moçambique (the entity that manages that complex), said that the cranes have also been modernized through the installation of the computer system called "C-Gate", and are already boosting the competitiveness of the Beira Development Corridor.

The source mentioned that this process allows the automation of the access control of trucks to the port in real time, as well as the registration of drivers, vehicles and containers, which access the container terminals daily.
