PODEMOS says it will not be intimidated by the deaths of Elvino Dias and Paulo Guambe

PODEMOS diz que não se vai intimidar com a morte de Elvino Dias e de Paulo Guambe

The Povo Optimista para o Desenvolvimento de Moçambique (PODEMOS) party, which supports Venâncio Mondlane's presidential candidacy, assures that it will not be intimidated by the murder of lawyer Elvino Dias and the party's representative, Paulo Guambe..

According to the party's president, Albino Forquilha, this death is intended to intimidate PODEMOS from going ahead with the process of contesting the election results.

"This murder was an order given to eliminate the two of them as a way of intimidating the PODEMOS party so that it wouldn't continue to fight for electoral justice. We are currently concluding the challenges at district level, and Elvino Dias, with his team of lawyers, and Guambe, with his communications and image team, were involved in gathering all the information and preparing a general challenge," said Forquilha, noting that this murder is aimed at preventing the preparation of a complaint to the courts.

However, for the president of PODEMOS, the deaths of Elvino Dias and Paulo Guambe "go against the will of the Mozambican people, who through PODEMOS are demanding elections".
