Facebook is reconfiguring the subscription tool with which Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can make more money in their business if they were in Subscriber Groups, where customers have exclusive access to content and pay a monthly fee.
According to Facebook, this is a test aimed at attracting more subscribers to SMBs, namely, social media creators and their large followers. Thus, Facebook has created a direct-pay subscription link.
"As we move into the metaverse, we are committed to unlocking opportunities for creators to make money from their work. The 30% fees Apple takes on transactions make that goal difficult, so we are updating our subscription product," wrote Meta (formerly Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg's idea should be completed by December, and until then, page and business creators will be able to earn between five and 20 dollars for each new subscriber.
In a statement, Facebook clarifies that the bonus program is part of its commitment to invest more than $1 billion in creators by next year.
Since Wednesday, Facebook allows developers to direct their customers to a site where they can complete the purchase of the subscription via Facebook Pay. This is a way to avoid that part of the money earned when subscribing via mobile devices falls on Apple, and thus the creators get the full amount.
