PGR releases list of nine more members of the armed group terrorizing Cabo Delgado

The Mozambican Attorney General's Office (PGR) yesterday released a list of nine more citizens, including two foreigners, for their involvement in "the practice of terrorism, its financing and related crimes" in northern Mozambique..

They are Mozambican Domingos Vasco, 21, who was sentenced to eight years in prison for having taken part in several terrorist incursions in different districts of Cabo Delgado since he was recruited in 2019 to join the terrorist groups operating in the province. Bacar Sualé Assumane, a 36-year-old Mozambican whose criminal case, according to the PGR, is still under investigation.

According to the newspaper @TruthBacar Sualé is a childhood friend and maintains friendly relations with Bonomade Machude and Farido Selemane Arrune, the current leader of the terrorists operating in Cabo Delgado province, as they all come from Mocímboa da Praia.

Also on the list is Faris Knigt Ahemed, a Kenyan living in South Africa, a shopkeeper and owner of Abu Surryya Outlet, who is suspected of financing terrorist groups through digital mobile wallets, but whose case is still pending.

Tanzanian Selemane Muamede Amisse, a 59-year-old farmer sentenced to 12 years in prison, is on the PRG's list, accused of involvement, among other crimes, as a criminal association, in the transportation of a group of 13 terrorists and war material with his boat.
