Inhambane Province and the city of Maputo will host public consultation meetings for the preliminary presentation of the environmental impact study, as part of the hydrocarbon exploration in the Mazenga block, in the Mozambique Sedimentary Basin.

In Inhambane province, the action will take place in the districts of Panda, Homo'ine, Morrumbene, Funhalouro, Massinga, Vilankulo.

In an announcement made public this week, and quoted by Notícias online, Mozgas Energy, Lda and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) indicate that they intend to carry out two-dimensional (2D) seismic data acquisition operations and the execution of research and evaluation boreholes, as part of their contractual obligations, with a view to identifying the hydrocarbon potential in this area located in Inhambane province.
