Nearly 10,000 people in Govuro district, Inhambane, could face starvation due to lack of rain.

The majority of the population, who may be food insecure, live in the administrative post of Nova Mambone.

The crops planted at the beginning of the 2021/2022 season are lost due to the intense heat that is being felt, in fact, it has not rained in Govuro since November of last year, a fact that worries the population and the local authorities

At the moment, the residents are using the surpluses from the last agrarian harvest, which, however, could run out at any time.
