Mozambican writer Paulina Chiziane has been in Warsaw, Poland, since yesterday for the inauguration ceremony of a chair established in her honor for her contribution to Mozambican literature and the Portuguese language.
Called the "Chair of Paulina Chiziane Studies", it is run by the Faculty of Modern Languages at the University of Warsaw and aims to develop studies of the Portuguese language, Mozambican literature and culture and Lusophony, according to "Notícias".
The protocol for the creation of the chair was ratified last year between Camões - Institute for Portuguese Language Cooperation and the Faculty of Modern Languages at the University of Warsaw.
Standing out as the first woman to publish a novel in Mozambique, "Balada de Amor ao Vento" (1990), Paulina Chiziane is one of the most representative writers of national literature and the Portuguese language.
