South African Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected president of the Confederation of African Football for the 2024/2029 term.
During the CAF Extraordinary General Assembly held on Wednesday, Feizal Sidat was elected as a member of the CAF Executive Committee.
It was by acclamation that Patrice Motsepe was reappointed president of the Confederation of African Football for another four years, as he was the only candidate to succeed himself.
Motsepe, 63, who initially took office in 2021, reaffirmed his commitment to moving forward with the progress made during his leadership.
"Thank you very much, because this is about Africa, this is about the people of this continent, and it was a great privilege for me to expose myself to each and every one of you, because you represent the best of the continent and the best of the world," said the businessman.
And, as I said, what we've achieved in recent years is because of all of us. And I'm immensely grateful," he added.
At the same meeting of the governing body of African soccer, the members of the CAF Executive Committee were elected.
