The Optimistic Party for the Development of Mozambique (PODEMOS) promises that it will bring a new dynamic to the national political scene, stressing that the swearing-in of its members as Members of Parliament aims to legitimize the will of the people in last October's elections.

In a publication by Success TVIvandro Massingue, a member of PODEMOS, stressed that his party was going to do things differently from the older parties, i.e. "as a youth caucus it promises to do politics in the true sense".

"We promised to bring a new dynamic to the current political scene, we really came to play the political game and that's why we took the liberty of being present at the inauguration," concluded Massingue.

Moments before taking office, Sebastião Mussanhane appealed to the Mozambican people to supervise the activities of PODEMOS from now on, guaranteeing that "everything will be done to fulfill the program designed for the well-being of all".

As for the members of the MDM and RENAMO parties who didn't take office, Massingue accused them of pretending to be on the side of the people, calling them "cowards".
