Lusophone countries exported 4% less to Macau in the first semester

Exports from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau fell 4% in the first half of this year, compared with the same period in 2020, official data released Tuesday indicate.

The value of exports from Portuguese-speaking countries was 331 million patacas (35 million patacas), according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) of Macau.

The amount of imported goods fell by 59.5%, to four million patacas (423 thousand euros).

The DSEC also reported that Macau's trade deficit for the first half of the year was 67.26 billion patacas (7.1 billion euros), up 42.88 billion patacas (4.54 billion euros) compared to the same period last year.
