Renamo, the largest opposition party in Mozambique, guarantees that its president and presidential candidate, Ossufo Momade, will be on the ground as part of the electoral campaign for the October 9 vote later this week.

In a Media FaxRenamo spokesman Marcial Macome said yesterday (27) that Ossufo Momade's first public appearance in the election campaign for the presidential, legislative and provincial assemblies on October 9 will take place in Niassa province, in the north of the country.

"What I can assure you is that President Ossufo Momade will be campaigning later this week," emphasized the Renamo spokesman.

Meanwhile, the source explained that the Renamo president's current absence from the campaign is due solely and exclusively to the political missions he is carrying out outside the country. "He is on a work mission and is in good health, I can assure you of that," concluded Marcial Macome.

Renamo's presidential candidate is the only one who has not yet presented himself to the electorate in this campaign, which kicked off last Saturday (24) and is expected to last 45 days.
