The Apple TV+ film "Coda - In the Rhythm of the Heart" won the Best Picture award at the 2022 Oscars this Sunday night in Los Angeles, California, USA.

There were, in total, ten nominees in the category - "Coda" beat out "Love, Sublime Love," "Nightmare Alley," "Belfast," "Drive My Car," "King Richard: Making Champions," "Licorice Pizza" and "Don't Look Up
The most awarded film of the ceremony was "Dune," voted Film of the Year among the nearly 10,000 members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The victory is historic for Apple because "Coda" became the first production from a streaming platform to win the Oscar for Best Picture.
The film premiered more than a year ago at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and won every award in the categories for which it was nominated: the jury and audience trophies for Best U.S. Fiction Film, the award for Best Direction, Screenplay and Editing for director Siân Heder, and the Special Jury Award for the film's main cast.
