The President of the Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique (PODEMOS) is accused by the Center for Democracy and Human Rights of having received 219 million meticais to stop fighting for the restoration of electoral truth.
The non-governmental organization submitted the complaint against Albino Forquilha to the Maputo City Court today.
"We received information indicating that the President of PODEMOS received a sum of 219 million meticais to sell electoral justice," he said.
According to Nuvunga, the document submitted is to trigger an investigation that will also lead to the recovery of the money.
"This is public money. As you know, the people involved in this operation are from the Frelimo party," he said.
The people who provided information to the CDD, according to the social activist, "claim to be close to the matter".
About two weeks ago, Forquilha addressed the media, where, among other things, he claimed not to have received any bribes to encourage the party's MPs to take office in the Assembly of the Republic.
