Mozambique has nearly seven million dollars, donated by the World Health Organization, to respond to health emergencies in the country.
The amount was announced last Friday, during the signing of the Cooperation and Assistance Plan, between WHO and the Ministry of Health, for the biennium 2022 and 2023.
The Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, said that the amount will be used for sustainable institutional capacity building.
For his part, the representative of the World Health Organization in Mozambique, Severin Von Xylander, said that the amount now available will be distributed in three pillars of the Tenth General Programme of Work (GPW 13).
In Mozambique, WHO has been supporting the Ministry of Health for about 40 years in Public Health Programs and emergency response.
