The richest man in the world left the Earth. But he came back 11 minutes later

The world's richest man reached space on Tuesday, along with three other passengers, aboard the New Shepard rocket of the Blue Origin company he founded, having exceeded 100 kilometers in altitude.

According to the Portuguese newspaper "Visão", it was a few minutes after 3 pm in Mozambique when Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, left for space, together with his brother and the youngest and oldest astronauts in the world.

Three minutes after takeoff, the capsule carrying the four space tourists broke free of the rocket and crossed the Karman line, the internationally recognized boundary between Earth's atmosphere and space. Along with Jeff Bezos, founder of the online commerce company Amazon, followed on Blue Origin's first manned flight were Mark Bezos, 82-year-old American aviation pioneer Wally Funk, and 18-year-old Dutch student Oliver Daemen, the son of a multimillionaire who paid for the trip.

The capsule of Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket landed in Texas, with the help of three parachutes, 11 minutes after the trip began. The rocket landed a few minutes earlier. The four passengers exited the capsule happy and celebrating the moment. The millionaire stated right afterwards that this was the "best day ever".

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic, who traveled into space nine days before Bezos, has already congratulated the millionaire on the successful trip, deeming it "impressive.
