The number of families affected by Cyclone Jude in Nampula is increasing as rescue teams move into the affected districts.

Until last week, a total of 19,602 families were affected. However, the situation has changed, with 97,000 families now registered as affected by Cyclone Jude in Nampula province.

In a similar situation, the death toll has risen from six, which were reported at the emergency operational committee meeting in Nampula province shortly after the day of the cyclone, to the current figure of 13 dead.

The information was updated on Thursday (20) by the delegate of the National Institute for Risk and Disaster Management (INGD), Anacleta Botão, quoted by the newspaper. Rigor newspaper.

"Approximately 97,000 families are affected throughout the province, with 13 deaths confirmed so far and 112 injured. We are moving forward with assistance, in collaboration with our partners, as well as counting on the support of sympathetic citizens who have joined the national aid movement, contributing mainly in the transitional centers that have been set up so far," said the INGD representative in Nampula province.
