CNN Portugal will be launched this Monday, November 22nd, to replace TVI24 as the Media Capital group's information channel.
The channel will debut six months after the announcement. According to sources, Nuno Santos, who was until then general director of TVI, is the first director of the new channel.
For now, information indicates that the programming will be based on a "horizontal grid", which will have the biggest changes "on weekends, where spaces for information, debate and analysis dominate.
And there is the promise of "proximity journalism" in a new channel that intends to get closer to the upper classes.
CNN Portugal "is born on television, but also on digital. It is the arrival in Portugal of the biggest journalism brand in the world, but we want to do it in Portuguese, for the Portuguese public, made, of course, by Portuguese people", underlined Nuno Santos.
"We are now working full steam ahead and on several fronts," added the CNN Portugal director.
