The presidential candidate for the Optimist Party for the Development of Mozambique (PODEMOS), Venâncio Mondlane, says he has received no response from the Mozambican government on his terms of reference and proposals for the meeting with the President of the Republic that had been scheduled for today, Tuesday (26)..
At a meeting called by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, to discuss the current situation in the country, characterized by demonstrations shortly after the announcement of the election results on 9 October by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Venâncio Mondlane says that the government has once again shown that it has no desire to solve the problems faced by Mozambicans by "ignoring" the proposal for dialogue that he suggested.
"I have received no response from the Presidency of the Republic to my proposal for dialogue. This makes it clear that the President of the Republic has no desire to solve the problems that affect the majority of Mozambicans," said Venâncio Mondlane, adding that "Frelimo is showing that it is autocratic".
Speaking this afternoon on his Facebook page, the PODEMOS presidential candidate also assured that the demonstrations in the country will continue until the various problems affecting Mozambicans are resolved, including electoral truth.
