Namaacha: Economic agents denounce illicit charges involving INNOQ technicians

Namaacha: Agentes económicos denunciam cobranças ilícitas envolvendo técnicos do INNOQ

Economic agents in the district of Namaacha, in Maputo province, on Wednesday denounced alleged illicit charges involving technicians from the National Institute for Standardization and Quality (INNOQ).

The complaint was made to the governor of Maputo province, Manuel Tule, during a meeting he held with economic agents as part of his visit to the district, as one of the alleged victims said.

"I received two men who identified themselves as INNOQ agents. They said they wanted to check certain products, the pole for example, and would make a sample. But as a reseller, I had to pay for each unit. I didn't agree to that," said an economic agent.

The governor of Maputo province, who listened attentively to the concerns, announced that the government would open an investigation to clarify the situation.

"Normally when there is a complaint, we investigate to find out if it is true and then proceed accordingly. There are cases in which, after investigation, we conclude that there was a misunderstanding, but there are others in which deviation from the rules is proven," said Manuel Tule. (Source: RM)
