Mozambican musician, Chico António, died of an illness at Maputo Central Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was hospitalized for about a week and did not resist the complications of the disease.
Chico António was born on May 13, 1958, in the district of Magude, Maputo province. He is the author of songs based on Mozambican folklore, including hits such as Baila Maria, Antlissa Maria and Wodza. He is recognized both inside and outside the country. (Sources: O País and Tv Sucesso)
