Mozambique: Mozambican Football Federation expels Textáfrica for non-compliance with rules

Moçambola: Federação Moçambicana de Futebol afasta Textáfrica por incumprimento de normas

The Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) has just removed Textáfrica do Chimoio from Moçambola-2024 for failing to meet the criteria required by the Licensing Commission, which withdrew the license from the Chimoio Plateau "factories". As a result, the race will go ahead without the first national champions..

The Licensing Committee informed the Grupo Desportivo Recreativo Textáfrica do Chimoio that it had become aware through the media of its debts to its players in terms of salaries and allowances for a period of four months. It was therefore decided that the club should present evidence of the discharge of any debts within 5 days, failing which the facts published by the media would be proven.

A publication by Challenge newspaper says, quoting the FMF's Licensing Commission, that the Soalpo club has not presented any documents that could disprove the veracity of the debts mentioned and has therefore decided to withdraw the license granted to Textáfrica on April 9, 2024, for this season's Moçambola matches, with the knowledge of the FMF, the Mozambican Football League (LMF), the Manica Provincial Football Association and CAF.

João Chissano resigns

Before this decision was taken by the FMF, coach João Chissano, who has been in Maputo since his return from Lichinga, sent a letter to the Textáfrica board requesting his resignation, citing a lack of conditions to remain at the helm of the "fabril" team, which is in last place in Moçambola-2024.

According to the same publication, the assistant technician, Soares Victor Soares (Soarito), who is in Maputo, is also expected to follow the same fate as João Chissano.
