Mozambique, including other African countries, will soon have an environmental monitoring satellite developed by China, reports News.
To materialize the project, the construction of a China-Africa Satellite Remote Sensing Applications Cooperation Centre is planned.
The Director of the China National Space Administration (CNSA), Zhang Kejian, said that the project is part of the cooperation plan between China and Africa, and it is expected that some countries will benefit directly to support their own environmental development in a sustainable way.
Last year, China launched a new sensing satellite via a Long March-2C carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northeast of the country.
He said that China is contributing its wisdom and strength to the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
China has made resource conservation and environmental protection a basic state policy for development. It has also promoted the building of an ecological civilization committed to green development.
China is equipped with comprehensive monitoring capabilities to identify fine particles, pollutants, greenhouse gases and clouds.
