The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, advocates investing in the development and professionalization of sports in order to bring them up to the level of sports practices in other latitudes.
"Try to professionalize Mozambican sport. It can't be artisanal for life. Let's move away from that to at least semi-industrial", said Nyusi, stressing that corruption in sport must be combated.
"This slows down the development of our area. But also, always try to implement safety measures in the fields. Fighting in the camps is not fashionable. There can't be camps famous for fighting and confusion," Nyusi recommended, including the search for new talent.
Nyusi was speaking on Thursday in Maputo at the awards gala for the best players in six soccer categories in the first round of the national soccer championship, Moçambola.
And for his dedication to supporting sport during his two terms in office, the PR was awarded three balls, one of which was gold.
Moçambola 2024 will end on November 24th, and there will be more prizes for those who stand out during the season. The champion club will receive 7,500,000 meticais.
