Mozambique takes part in the SADC Council of Ministers from today

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela Lucas, will be taking part in the Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) from Wednesday (12) until the 15th, in Harare, the Zimbabwean capital..

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MINEC), the participants will focus on the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP-2020-2030), the operationalization of the SADC Regional Fund, disaster risk management, and food and nutrition security in the region.

The meeting is also expected to discuss the reactivation of the Ministerial Forum and the transformation of the Parliamentary Forum into the SADC Parliament.

This Council of Ministers is being held under the slogan: "Promoting innovation to unlock opportunities for sustained economic growth and development towards an industrialized SADC".

On her trip, the minister will be accompanied by Mozambique's high commissioners to Zimbabwe and Botswana, Carvalho Muária and António Macheve, as well as the director for Regional and Continental Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ambassador Carlos Costa.
