Mozambique has not yet been notified of any irregular citizens who may be repatriated as part of the massive extraditions underway in the United States of America (USA).
Despite this, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela Lucas, assured the Mozambican press that the ministry under her supervision is prepared to receive any fellow citizens who may be repatriated.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Mozambican Heroes' Day celebrations, she said that so far there has been no official notification to determine how many Mozambicans will be involved in this repatriation process.
"We haven't received notification, you have to receive notification to know how many Mozambicans are going to be repatriated. We still haven't received notification if they will be repatriated," said Maria Manuela Lucas, quoted by Radio Mocambique.
Maria Manuela Lucas added that, even without this specific information, the Mozambican government is ready to deal with the situation, guaranteeing that all citizens who need support will receive it.
