Mozambique and Botswana analyze the possibility of implementing a single tourism package

Moçambique e Botsuana analisam possibilidade de implementar pacote único de turismo

Mozambique and Botswana are analyzing the possibility of implementing a single tourism package so that visitors from different countries in the world have the opportunity to combine beach tourism in Mozambique with inland tourism in Botswana..

The intention was shared after a bilateral meeting between the governments of the two countries, which took place in Nacala Porto, Nampula, as part of Botswana President Duma Boko's working visit to the country, which began on Thursday (27).

"We can attract tourists from Europe, Asia, America and even Africa. We will have a single package in which tourists in Botswana can enjoy conservation and energy tourism, and in Mozambique they can enjoy the beaches, visit our islands and try our cuisine. We believe that tourism can be developed in this way," said the Mozambican Head of State.

According to a Rigor newspaperDuring the talks in Nacala Port, the two governments, led by their presidents, also discussed three other issues: the project to build the Limpopo line, linking Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique; the project to expand the fuel depots in Maputo Port, with the aim of increasing the levels of conservation and supply of fuel to Botswana.

"It was a very important meeting, a productive visit. We believe that we will work together to realize the agreements signed, the projects underway and also other future projects to be developed between our two countries and for our peoples," said the President, Daniel Chapo.

The visitor, Botswana's President Duma Boko, in turn, thanked the government for the hospitality with which he was received and said that his government is fully committed to implementing the agreements signed with Mozambique. With regard to tourism and boosting this activity, according to him, the two governments are investing significantly in both land and air transport to facilitate the connection between the two countries.

"We need to work together in the areas that the president has indicated to ensure that tourists have a great travel experience between our countries. This implies the issue of land transportation, but we must also focus on air transportation to connect our countries in 50 minutes," he said.
