The government intends to attract investment from Spanish entrepreneurs in the areas of tourism, agro-industry and manufacturing, under the National Program to Industrialize Mozambique (PRONAI).
To this end, a delegation represented by the Mozambican Embassy in Madrid and the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC) took part in the Africa and Spain Opportunities and Collaboration Forum, which ran for two days and ended last Friday in the Autonomous Region of Asturias, in the north of that European country on the Iberian Peninsula, where the most prominent steel industries are located.
The event was organized by Bega Costa Africa & Worldwide, a foundation in the Asturias region that specializes in economic market research and supports Spanish companies that want to export their products to Central and West Africa.
According to the newspaper Notícias, citing data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Spanish companies are currently looking to expand their operations to Portuguese-speaking countries, namely Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau.
