Mozambican woman sentenced to five years in prison for possessing false documents in South Africa

Moçambicana condenada a cinco anos de prisão por posse de documentos falsos na África dos Sul

This Thursday (28), a Mozambican woman was sentenced to five years and forty days in prison by the court in the South African town of Westonaria, Gauteng province, after being arrested in possession of 19 false birth certificates.

Joissa Catarina Zunguze pleaded guilty to the crimes of fraud, possession of false documents and violation of immigration law.

According to a Radio MozambiqueThe Mozambican citizen was arrested in September last year during an intelligence operation conducted by the Westonaria police in coordination with the South African Ministry of Home Affairs.

After serving her prison sentence, Joissa Zunguze will be deported to Mozambique.
