Millennium bim and Girl Move Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding that strengthens a long-standing partnership focused on female empowerment and leadership in Mozambique. The ceremony took place in Maputo and was attended by Millennium bim's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rui Pedro, and Marta Roff, Girl Move's representative in Mozambique.

Since 2019, Millennium bim has supported the training of young women through the "Change Program for Leadership and Social Innovation", promoting female empowerment and the transformation of communities. Over the past six years, hundreds of young people have benefited from this partnership, which includes scholarships, mentoring programs and internships, both at Millennium bim in Mozambique and Millennium BCP in Portugal.

With this new agreement, the Bank reaffirms its commitment to investing in female talent and leadership, providing development opportunities for more young Mozambicans and actively contributing to a more equitable, prosperous and sustainable society.

Strengthening this partnership reflects the Bank's commitment to empowering young women, ensuring that they have access to the tools and opportunities that will enable them to positively transform their families, their communities and the country as a whole," said Rui Pedro, CEO of Millennium bim.

For her part, Marta Roff, Girl Move's representative, highlighted the importance of this ongoing support: "Investing in the training of young women leaders is essential to boosting the country's social and economic development. Millennium bim has been a strategic partner on this path, and together we will continue to create opportunities that transform lives and communities".

The partnership between Millennium bim and Girl Move Academy is part of the "More Mozambique for Me" initiative, Millennium bim's Social Responsibility program, which supports sustainable social impact projects, especially in the areas of education, sports, health, culture and community development.

Girl Move Academy is an internationally recognized organization for its innovative work in training female leaders. Its program has been instrumental in reducing school drop-outs, preventing early marriages and strengthening the role of women in Mozambican society.

With this new chapter, Millennium bim and Girl Move Academy reaffirm their commitment to transforming the reality of thousands of young women, ensuring that their potential is fully utilized for the development of the country.
