Millennium bim anuncia financiamento de 2 milhões de meticais para promoção das artes plásticas

The International Bank of Mozambique (Millennium bim) announced yesterday, Wednesday (10), funding of two million meticais aimed at developing and promoting various cultural initiatives, especially in the fine arts in the country. The initiative will run for two years.

To this end, Millennium bim and the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center (CCFM) signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday, aimed at stimulating the production of plastic arts. Through this agreement, Millennium bim will finance the production of five annual exhibitions at the CCFM, offering essential support to local artists, as well as supporting the continuation of free cultural activities for children, held every Saturday, promoting cultural education and encouraging access to culture from an early age.

Speaking after signing the agreement, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Millennium bim, Moisés Jorge, stressed that this partnership is another significant step for the institution he leads in consolidating its commitment to sustainable development in Mozambican communities. "This initiative not only celebrates Mozambique's artistic wealth, but also promotes the preservation and enhancement of the country's cultural heritage," said Moisés Jorge, adding that this initiative is part of his institution's Social Responsibility program, called "More Mozambique for Me".

For the director of the CCFM, Vincent Frontczyk, "this partnership comes at a special time when the CCFM will be celebrating 30 years of existence next year, standing out since its creation as a pillar in supporting contemporary art in Mozambique.

"With Millennium bim's support, we will be able to strengthen our mission to support Mozambican artists and ensure that CCFM continues to be an inclusive and welcoming space for all. We are excited about the possibilities this collaboration will bring to our artistic community," concluded Frontczyk.
