The members of the provincial and district election commissions are demanding payment of overdue allowances from the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) and accuse the management of ignoring their concerns.

According to a publication in the newspaper "The Country"This Friday, members of the electoral bodies in Maputo city went to the STAE to demand payment of overdue allowances. The members of the electoral bodies were received at the STAE, but did not receive a satisfactory response.

At issue is the 13th allowance for the year 2023, as part of the local elections. For the general elections in 2024, the group is demanding payment for the months of October, November and December.

However, the group says it will continue to put pressure on STAE until their allowances are paid.
