Mateus Magala desafia novos administradores do INCM a impulsionar digitalização

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala, challenged the new administrators of the National Communications Institute of Mozambique (INCM) to become protagonists in the country's digital transformation, during the swearing-in ceremony of two administrators, this Friday (29), in Maputo.

The minister stressed the importance of concrete projects to expand telecommunications services, with a focus on rural areas, ensuring that digitalization reaches every corner of Mozambique.

Magala emphasized that digitalization is the key to the country's development and, to this end, initiatives such as the "Mozambique Digital Acceleration Project", "Internet for All", "Digital Squares" and "Digital Libraries" should be INCM's priorities.

"Digital inclusion is essential for our country's progress. We need to ensure that everyone, wherever they are, has access to quality telecommunications services. This is a crucial step for our country's growth," said the Minister.

In addition, Magala stressed the importance of implementing the Biometric Subscriber Register, which aims to increase the security and confidence of telecommunications users, making services safer and more transparent for citizens.

At the same ceremony, Celso Xerinda was sworn in as Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, and Adriana Miranda took over as Non-Executive Director.

The Minister of Transport and Communications instructed the new administrators to work in harmony, collaborating with other institutions and promoting an environment of transparency, inclusion and integrity.

"INCM's mission is more than expanding infrastructure; it is to guarantee an accessible, secure and reliable digital future for all Mozambicans," Magala concluded.

With the new administrative body, INCM is preparing to take a leading role in modernizing the telecommunications sector and advancing Mozambique's digital transformation, which is essential for the country's sustainable and inclusive development.
