Maputo will soon start tests in communities and bus terminals

Maputo City health authorities to start testing for covid-19 at community level and bus terminals as a response to the fourth wave of the virus.

The measure aims to address the increase in the number of daily positive cases of covd-19 in the nation's capital.

To this end, the Maputo City health service has developed a multi-sectoral plan to meet the challenges of the fourth wave of the covid-19 pandemic, which consists of improving care capacity at the local health facility level.

"We will improve the flows for the diagnosis of our population at the community level and the testing at the level of international and national road terminals," assured the director of the Maputo City health service, Sheila Lobo de Castro.

In addition to these measures, the health services of the country's capital also foresee an increase in compliance with the rules of prevention at all levels by all stakeholders who must make this assessment.

For his part, Vicente Joaquim, Secretary of State of the City of Maputo, said that, the multi-sectoral response plan matrix for covid-19 in Maputo City should not be just another document, but an instrument that should guide the implementation of the fight against the scourge that continues to claim lives.
