Protesters block access to Filipe Nyusi Airport

Manifestantes bloqueiam acessos ao Aeroporto Filipe Nyusi

Demonstrators in Nhancutse, Chongoene district, Gaza province, blocked the entrance to Filipe Nyusi Airport demanding free electricity and drinking water, supposedly promised to locals for giving up land to build the airport terminal.

At the moment, the N102, which runs from the N1 to the city of Chibuto, passing the airport, is barricaded, with tires being burned.

In contact with the press officer at the Police of the Republic of Mozambique in Gaza province, it was learned that the corporation had become aware of the incident and had dispatched officers to investigate it, promising to give more details in the next few hours. (JN)
