Since the start of the demonstrations, roughly two months ago, more than 110 people have been shot dead by the Mozambican police, according to civil society figures.
In recent days there have been reports of lifeless bodies abandoned in the cities of Maputo and Matola, one of which is that of a driver for the Mozambican Bar Association, who was found murdered by bullets in Bobole, in the district of Marracuene, Maputo province, writes Boletim CIP Eleições.
Likewise, a body was found on the beach in Maputo City.
There have also been kidnappings throughout the country. One that stands out is the Podemos delegate in Zavala, Inhambane. He was allegedly kidnapped at night along with his wife.
It should be noted that the demonstrations have been called by the presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, in protest at the election results that gave victory to the Frelimo party and its candidate Daniel Chapo.
