Without giving too many details, Venâncio Mondlane, the presidential candidate, said that the third stage would involve 4 million Mozambicans. Yes, you read that right, 4 million Mozambicans.

"In the third stage of the measures of the general and national strike, this stage we are going to go up a level, it is a stage that we are going to involve 4 million Mozambicans," said Mondlane, with conviction.

"The truth is that we are going to enter an overwhelming mass dimension from the third phase, which we will announce on Monday how this is going to be done," said Mondlane.

Also during the live broadcast, Mondlane warned the police not to fire on the people. "You are free to resist illegal orders, put down your weapons," he said, adding that the country is moving towards a phase of true democracy.
