More than 770 schools were destroyed by storm Ana in the central and northern region

A total of 778 schools were destroyed by Tropical Storm Ana in the provinces of Zambezia, Tete, Manica, Sofala and Nampula. The phenomenon affected 302,000 students and 4,700 teachers.

Ministry of Education and Human Development spokeswoman Gina Guibunda said that tents or other temporary facilities will be used to ensure the start of classes in the schools destroyed by the storm.

"Even if it doesn't start today or tomorrow, but as soon as possible the classes should start. Also, I think you will not forget, that many of the times when we have these kinds of events, our schools are also used as accommodation centers," said Gina Guibunda.
