More than 3,000 residents of Madubula, in Matutuine district, Maputo province, are under siege due to the rising flow of the Maputo river.
At this moment, the Maputo River registers hydrometric levels of up to 26 centimeters above the alert, and the head of the Department of Water Resources, in the Southern Regional Water Administration, appeals to the population to take precautionary and safety measures.
The rise in the flow of the Maputo River is a result of the runoff it has been receiving from upstream countries due to heavy rainfall in South Africa and the Kingdom of eSwatini.
