From tomorrow, a total of 30,000 candidates will be fighting for 5,000 places in higher education at the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), UniLúrio and UniZambeze.
Information shared by UEM indicates that the major innovation for the year 2024 is admission to distance learning courses by documentary competition, without a written exam.
According to Notícias, candidates for UEM, UniLúrio and UniZambeze will be assessed in all the provincial capitals and in some districts such as Chibuto, Maxixe, Vilankulo and Mocuba.
Of the three institutions, UEM has the largest number of candidates for 2024, with 25,630, of whom 24,623 will sit the entrance exams for face-to-face courses and the rest will apply for distance learning. In 2023, the number of candidates was 22,753.
The exams will be held in the morning and afternoon, and the results are expected to be announced on February 2nd.
At the moment, UEM offers 30 courses, 17 of which are on-the-job, nine of which are after-work and only four of which are distance learning. For this last category, selection will consist of verifying compliance with the requirements defined for entry into this modality.
Also for distance learning, candidates must be computer literate or equivalent and have access to the Internet.
The distance learning courses will be attended from the places where the admitted candidates live, which means attending the face-to-face activities at the tutoring center where they are approved.
