The presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), Lutero Simango, promises to reduce the electricity rate in order to reduce the costs associated with this public service.
Simango made this promise in the town of Vilankulo, which was the entry point to the province of Inhambane, southern Mozambique, to ask for votes.
In a Sunday newspaperThe MDM presidential candidate believes that "many tourist resorts pay high energy taxes, which makes this activity unsustainable", despite the fact that it is an area with great potential to prosper and employ more Mozambican citizens.
For the Ponta Vermelha aspirant, the country and Inhambane province, in particular, have a tourism potential capable of generating more jobs and contributing to revenue for the state.
