LAM and Stewart Sukuma consolidate partnership

LAM e Stewart Sukuma consolidam parceria

LAM-Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique and Mozambican composer and performer Stewart Sukuma recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Maputo, aimed at formalizing and consolidating the existing relationship between the company and the artist, whose image is aligned with the carrier's positioning.

As a valued and long-standing partner of LAM, the musician will play a vital role in enhancing the customer experience of the flag carrier airline in implementing its strategic vision of serving its customers better and better.

On the occasion, the general director of LAM, João Carlos Pó Jorge, explained that the agreement will enable a series of concerts to be held in the cities of Pemba, Cabo Delgado province (which has already taken place), Beira, Sofala province, Tete, in the province of the same name, Quelimane, in Zambézia, and Maputo, as part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of his career.

"We've been following his career and we know he's a great artist. Now he wants to show his art and culture to the whole country, starting with Pemba, and LAM is ready to provide him with fast, safe and comfortable transportation," he said.

With this gesture, as the general manager said, the company also wants to reaffirm its support for national culture: "Stewart Sukuma conveys what we have been doing, which is to transport people and goods safely and comfortably, situations that have characterized the musician's concerts," he said.

For Stewart Sukuma, the agreement represents the consolidation of a relationship he has had with LAM for the last 30 years: "Many people may know my song entitled Mozambique, whose video clip is supported by images in which I am dressed as a LAM flight captain. This shows my appreciation for this flag carrier."

"I think it's a very beautiful way for us to achieve a common dream together, which is to get people to know the country through LAM and also to take culture to various corners of Mozambique," he said.

In another approach, the artist considered that traveling by plane is fast and safe, and is particularly recommended when it comes to tours because they are very tiring.

"I'm grateful and I'm convinced that this partnership will bear the desired fruit. It's a win-win agreement, with LAM providing air tickets and the artist providing his image," concluded Stewart Sukuma, who recently launched his debut book of poetry, entitled "The Tailor and the Art of Sewing Love".
