The winner of the UK elections, Keir Starmer, was appointed Prime Minister by King Charles III this Friday after a meeting at Buckingham Palace in London.

In his first speech as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer began by saying that he had accepted King Charles' invitation to form the government of "this great nation".

Starmer concluded his speech by saying that the work "is urgent" and that it will start "today".

Keir Starmer took office as prime minister after the center-left Labour Party won an absolute majority, with 410 MPs out of a total of 650, while the Conservative Party, previously in government, only elected 131 MPs.
