Journalist Arlindo Chissale is reported to have disappeared "mysteriously" about four days ago, since, according to family members, he was traveling from Cabo Delgado province to the city of Nacala, in Nampula province.

Chissale was press officer for the former mayor of Nacala, Raúl Novinte. After the split between Venâncio Mondlane and RENAMO, Chissale and Novinte have supported Mondlane up to the present time.

As he is known in journalism circles, Chissale has contacts and inside information.
